About the Game
Heavyweight Championship Boxing is a boxing sports game for the Game Boy. You control Mike Mauler in an arena where two boxers with large gloves face off in a square roped area. The player fights a sequence of five opponents in 12-round bouts to become the Heavyweight Champion. One-player mode is primarily against these AI boxers. The game stands out as the first boxing game on a Nintendo handheld with simple but brutal fighting mechanics using punches and blocks.
