About the Game
Bubble Bobble for MAME is the original 1986 arcade platformer where players control twin bubble dragons Bub and Bob rescuing their girlfriends Betty and Patty from the Cave of Monsters. In each of 100 levels, blow bubbles to trap enemies and pop them to collect items; grab enemies by the horns and throw them for points or extra lives. Defeat 100 bosses to reach the final boss, Super Drunk. Co-op is key for the true ending. The story begins in a peaceful village where the dragons live with their girlfriends until monsters kidnap them. What makes it stand out is the addictive bubble-trapping co-op gameplay, colorful levels, and the series' influence on platformers, with simple yet clever mechanics that reward teamwork.
