Dr. Franken

Dr. Franken is a platform game where the player controls Franky, a Frankenstein's monster on a quest to collect the scattered body parts of his girlfriend Bitsy. The game features seven floors with 20 stages in various world locations, where the player gathers hidden items, keys, and special equipment to progress and resurrect Bitsy. It has a strong Metroidvania style with backtracking and item-based progression. The Game Boy version uses a password-based save system. It stands out for its quirky Frankenstein theme, classic classical music arrangements (Bach's Fugue No. 2 and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata), and adventurous platforming exploration in a single large castle setting with multiple parts collection objectives. Characters include the playable Franky and Bitsy as the girlfriend whose body parts must be recovered.
