Fullmetal Alchemist: Omoide no Soumeikyoku

Fullmetal Alchemist: Sonata of Memories is a turn-based action RPG set in the world of the 2003 anime. Players control Edward Elric, Alphonse Elric, Winry Rockbell, and later Viola Amore as they investigate a series of terrorist bombings by the organization Liberale, encountering chimeras and uncovering a conspiracy involving forbidden alchemy. The story features an original plot with returning characters like Colonel Roy Mustang and Major Alex Louis Armstrong, focusing on themes of equivalent exchange, revenge, and redemption. Combat uses an active time battle system where characters charge ATB gauges to perform physical attacks, alchemy, or special moves; Winry fights using an alchemic gun. A key mechanic is the Alchemy Handbook and card-based transmutation system for creating items, boosting attacks, and solving puzzles. Side quests involve collecting proofs through various events with supporting cast like Maes Hughes and Sheska. It stands out for its faithful adaptation of the series' atmosphere, improved party synergy system, and deeper integration of Winry as a playable character compared to the previous GBA title Stray Rondo.
