About the Game
Galaxian is a fixed shooter arcade game where players control a laser cannon at the bottom of the screen, defending against waves of alien enemies descending from above. The gameplay features simple but addictive mechanics: move left and right to dodge enemy fire while shooting incoming formations. Each wave becomes progressively faster and more challenging as players advance through stages. The game pioneered the concept of alien formations attacking in coordinated patterns, influencing countless shooters that followed. Galaxian's colorful pixel graphics and arcade sound design became iconic elements of early 1980s gaming culture.
