Gekitou Pro Wrestling!! - Toukon Densetsu

Gekitou Pro Wrestling!! Toukon Densetsu (also known as Tecmo World Wrestling in the West) is a professional wrestling video game for the NES/Famicom. You control one of ten international wrestlers in single-player or two-player modes. Matches feature live commentary from the animated announcer Tom Talker. Controls allow more than 20 moves per wrestler by walking into opponents to initiate grapples, then pressing buttons for holds, slams, and special moves including situational top-rope attacks and ground strikes. Wins are by pinfall, submission, or count-out. Between matches, players train by mashing buttons to perform squats, sit-ups, or push-ups with a sumo wrestler, filling a meter and spheres to increase damage output. The single-player mode requires defeating all 10 opponents, ending against the boss Blue King (The Earl of Doom). Two-player mode adds a momentum meter for grappling advantages. This game stands out as the first wrestling title with animated commentary and action replay cutscenes for signature moves, pioneering the genre on the NES.
