Matsumoto Tooru no Kabushiki Hisshou Gaku

Matsumoto Tooru no Kabushiki Hisshou Gaku is a Simulation game on the NES/Famicom platform. In this stock investment simulator, the player is Matsumotouoru, a young Japanese man who follows the teachings of the renowned stock commentator Matsumoto Toru to grow his initial 100,000 yen into 10 million yen within two years. Gameplay involves realistic stock market trading mechanics on the Famicom's simple graphics and sound, where the player buys and sells various Japanese stocks using simulated news, rumors, and market trends. There is a story mode where Matsumotouoru acts as the player's master, imparting secret stock prediction techniques. The protagonist is Matsumotouoru (based on the real famous Japanese stock analyst), and there are no additional named characters beyond the simulation interface and in-game narrator. What makes it stand out is its direct connection to real-life Japanese stock market culture during the 1980s bubble economy boom, including actual historical stock data and tips from the real Matsumoto Toru, allowing players to experience advanced investment simulation without modern software.
