About the Game

Ontamarama is a rhythm music game where players act as aspiring Ontamaestros Beat or Rest on a tropical island. The story involves two Ontamaestros stopping a demon named Blast from capturing all Ontama spirits that provide music to the people. Gameplay requires pressing D-pad directions to the beat while using the stylus to tap multi-colored Ontama on the touch screen to fill energy bars on scrolling notes; black Ontama must be cleared and microphone blowing clears the screen. There are story, challenge, and free play modes. It stands out for blending rhythm challenges with story and unique DS touch mechanics.
