Operation Europe - Path to Victory 1939-45

Operation Europe: Path to Victory 1939-45 is a turn-based strategy game by Koei simulating major World War II battles across Europe and North Africa. Players command one of six scenarios (e.g., Invasion of France, El Alamein, Kursk, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, Berlin) as either Axis or Allied forces, assigning officers via a roulette system and positioning seven generals. Units like infantry, tanks, and artillery engage in abstract map-based combat with realistic troop movement in urban areas. The game emphasizes AI intelligence, large-scale army management, and historical accuracy without real-time action. It stands out for its flexible side-switching, six standalone scenarios on one cart, and campaign mode in some versions, making it ideal for fans of tactical WWII strategy like Panzer General.
