Papyrus

Papyrus is an action platformer where players control Papyrus, a young Egyptian fisherman, through 21 levels filled with obstacles, enemies, and puzzles. The story follows Papyrus as he rescues the kidnapped Pharaoh's daughter, Theti, from the evil high priest who has poisoned the Pharaoh and seized power. Gameplay features side-scrolling action with attacks, jumps, climbing, and hanging from vines, plus a dual-path system allowing play as Papyrus or Theti with minor content differences. Boss fights and enemy weaknesses add challenge, and a password save system plus an extra secret level provide replay value. It stands out for its Egyptian theme, colorful visuals on the Game Boy Color, and the innovative 2-in-1 structure with switchable playable characters.
