About the Game
Pocket Sonar is a unique 1998 Game Boy peripheral released in Japan by Bandai. It combines a Game Boy cartridge with a built-in sonar device and transducer cable for fishing. Input water depth on the Game Boy to scan underwater and locate fish using sonar. Includes a fish encyclopedia for species info and a simple fishing mini-game. What makes it stand out is being the first sonar-enabled handheld gaming console peripheral, allowing real-world fishing detection on a portable platform. It was only released in Japan and never internationally.
