Rainbow Islands Revolution

Rainbow Islands Revolution is a platformer for the Nintendo DS, a DS remake of the classic arcade game Rainbow Islands. Players control Bubby (or Bobby), a boy who floats in a bubble, using the stylus to drag him around and draw rainbows on the touch screen to defeat enemies, create bridges, or trap foes. Levels feature seven islands with four stages each, where enemies attack from above and below; special rainbows include a circle bubble for trapping and a triangle black hole for sucking enemies. The story follows the brothers rescuing kidnapped residents years after Bubble Bobble. Modes include Story Mode, Score Attack, Versus Multiplayer, and secret character unlocks. What stands out is the innovative dual-screen gameplay and stylus-based controls, allowing dynamic rainbow drawing and precise bubble navigation not possible in the original.
