S.C.A.R.S.

S.C.A.R.S. is a sci-fi themed futuristic racing game for the Nintendo 64. Gameplay involves racing animal-shaped cars equipped with weapons in virtual simulations created by supercomputers. There are five starting vehicles: mammoth, lion, rhino, shark, and mantis, each with different speed, armor, grip, and weapons; later unlocks include scorpion, cheetah, cobra, and panther. The grand prix mode features three main cups plus a customizable cup with up to eight races. Challenge mode pits you against the unlocked extra rides. Characters include the player and the various animal cars. What makes it stand out is the weapon-based combat racing combined with power-sliding handling, power-ups like missiles, shields, turbos, magnets, barriers, and bombs, plus excellent N64 visuals and split-screen multiplayer up to four players.
