Saint Seiya - Ougon Densetsu

Saint Seiya: Ougon Densetsu is a platformer-slash-RPG hybrid where players control Pegasus Seiya in side-scrolling levels, punching enemies and navigating obstacles while leveling up stats like strength, defense, and Cosmo energy. Story follows the early Sanctuary arc: orphan Seiya trains at the Sanctuary in Greece to become the Pegasus Bronze Saint, returns to Japan to reunite with his sister Saori Kido, and enters the Galaxian Wars tournament to claim the Sagittarius Gold Cloth and save Athena. Key characters include Seiya, Saori Kido, Shun, Shiryu, Ikki, and Hyoga; enemy clones of Saints appear as bosses. It stands out as one of the earliest licensed Saint Seiya games with simple RPG progression and turn-based boss combat, though it follows the manga/anime loosely with some altered endings.
