About the Game
The Sega Channel was a subscription-based online game service on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive that used cable television to deliver new and classic games. It allowed subscribers to play downloadable titles directly from the TV screen with no extra cartridge or hardware needed beyond the adapter. The service ran from 1994 to 1998 and included a rotating library of arcade-style and home console games. Sega Pat served as the friendly mascot and on-screen guide. It stood out as one of the earliest examples of console-to-TV game streaming and helped popularize direct-to-consumer gaming before broadband internet became widespread. Only available in select regions with compatible cable providers.
