About the Game

Soma Bringer is an action RPG developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo for the DS. Gameplay features real-time combat where the player uses four DS face buttons to attack with swords or magic, similar to Secret of Mana. There are three main party members and a fourth class member; battles occur on the world map or in dungeons with warp points as save points. Story follows rookie Welt joining the Pharzuph division to fight Soma-related parasitic monsters called Visitors, with amnesiac Idea as a key ally. It stands out for its minimalist Xenoblade-like style, philosophical themes on Soma energy, and unique DS controls with limited exploration.
