About the Game

Taekwon-Do is a 2D Taekwondo fighting game for the Super Famicom that aims to simulate real tournament rules and techniques. Players select from 19 fighters or create custom characters with unique stats and abilities. Gameplay features simple directional + attack button controls, point-based scoring (hits, knockdowns, ring-outs), and a chi meter for stamina recovery allowing up to two knockdown recoveries per match. The Tournament mode (story mode) has players compete in multiple regional tournaments to become the world champion. Key characters include Lee (balanced all-around), Shun (genius with low stamina), Kai (power type), and others like Sho, Yagami, Ichijyo, Duyile, and Kyoji. It stands out for its realistic martial arts simulation and variety without memorized super moves.
