Top Gun - Firestorm Advance

Top Gun: Firestorm Advance is a multi-scrolling isometric action shooter for the Game Boy Advance. Players control the F-14 Tomcat pilot in training to become a Top Gun, completing 12 advanced training missions across diverse global locations including the Arctic, oceans, forests, and deserts. Gameplay involves shooting enemies, dodging missiles, managing fuel and weapons, and performing aerial maneuvers in a challenging environment. The story follows the player's journey through rigorous pilot training with no major antagonistic plot, focusing on skill development. Standout features include surprisingly detailed isometric graphics for the era, addictive straightforward gameplay, seat-ejection mechanics, and support for multiplayer dogfighting via Game Link Cable. It stands out for adapting the classic Top Gun series concept to handheld isometric scrolling action with a large number of missions and aircraft types.
