Ultima - Runes of Virtue II

Ultima: Runes of Virtue II is an action-adventure role-playing game where the player, summoned by Lord British via moongate, must rescue kidnapped mayor Lord Tholden and other Britannia figures from the Black Knight. Explore a large open world of cities, islands, castles, and dungeons while solving object-manipulation puzzles and defeating real-time top-down monsters. Choose one of four unique companions—Shamino the Ranger (balanced starting gear), Mariah the Mage, Iolo the Bard, or Dupre the Fighter/Soldier—for different starting equipment but shared core mechanics. Combat uses inventory-based weapon swapping and collected items (e.g., magic items restoring health, speed boosts, or wall-passing); support two-player multiplayer via Game Link Cable on Game Boy. It stands out with bigger dungeons, new cutscenes/animations, larger map scope, and deeper exploration than the 1991 predecessor, though graphics remain limited for the handheld.
