Wings of Wor

Wings of Wor is a horizontal-scrolling shooter where players control Wor, a winged warrior from the planet Iccus, to defeat invading demons led by the Destroyer. Gameplay involves dodging waves of enemies while collecting blue orbs for shot spread, red orbs for damage, colored gems for pattern changes, and magical scrolls (Lightning Bolts, Magic Arrows, Ground Attacks, Thunder Bolts, Elemental, etc.) for powerful special attacks. Story follows Wor's journey through cave, river, castle, factory, organic, and cloud levels against grotesque mutant bosses. Characters center on Wor and supporting flying men defending Iccus. What makes it stand out is its unique blend of ancient Greek, gothic, steampunk, and bio-metallic visuals, plus upbeat medieval-style music by Noriyuki Iwadare contrasting the dark themes. Controls use standard Genesis button layout with spread-shot options and multiple lives.
