Yggdra Union

Yggdra Union is a tactical RPG for the Game Boy Advance featuring an overhead view of a 2D grid-based map. Players manage miniature units on turns where they choose a card that dictates movement and attack formations for 'Unions'. Unions combine up to 8 units (e.g., X or + shapes) to overwhelm enemies, with real-time elements in clashes. The story follows 17-year-old princess Yggdra Yuril Artwaltz fleeing her kingdom after her parents are killed by Emperor Gulcasa of the Bronquian Empire. She teams up with thief king Milanor and recruits warriors like Silver Wolf, Durant, Nietzsche the Undine, Roswell the Necromancer, and Rosary the Witch to reclaim Fantasinia and confront the Empire. Standout elements include the Union mechanic, character-driven story with branching endings based on player choices, and large cast of distinct personalities across multiple battles.
