Ys vs. Trails in the Sky - Alternative Saga

Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga is a crossover fighting game developed by Nihon Falcom for the PlayStation Portable, blending the action combat of the Ys series with the RPG elements of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Players select one of five story mode heroes (Adol from Ys, Estelle, Kloe, or Tita from Trails) and control them in arena battles while progressing through a shared plot where they are summoned to the land of Xanadu to confront the Dragon King Galsis. The combat system draws directly from Ys mechanics, featuring basic attacks, dodging, blocking, jumping, and a customizable set of four skills per character, allowing chaining combos and status effects. Support characters can be acquired to assist in battles. The game stands out for its nostalgic fanservice, exceptional soundtrack, and integration of JRPG progression (experience points, equipment, and leveling) into multiplayer-style fighting, offering five character-specific story routes plus arcade, network, and free-for-all modes.
