About the Game

Air Rescue (Sega Master System) is a 2D side-scrolling action game where players pilot a military helicopter for rescue missions. Similar to Choplifter, players must transport hostages from enemy territory back to the helipad, lowering a rope ladder instead of landing the aircraft. The helicopter can switch between four weapons for self-defense against terrorists. The helicopter resembles the S-70 model and is lightly armored, requiring careful control of flight physics with noticeable inertia. Gameplay features realistic flight movement across scrolling levels with a map overview before each mission. It stands out as a unique tie-in adaptation with different stages and a less military tone than the original arcade version, emphasizing rescue mechanics over pure combat.
