Desert Strike Advance

Desert Strike Advance is a top-down shooter developed by Budcat Creations and published by Electronic Arts for the Game Boy Advance. Players control a modified AH-64 Apache helicopter, piloting it through open isometric levels filled with enemy units and obstacles. The story is a sequel to the Gulf War game Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf, where the player protects oil fields and rescues hostages from the terrorist leader General Kilbaba. It stands out with its realistic tactical elements for the handheld format, including strategic mission planning, multiple campaign levels across different desert battlefields, and responsive controls adapted for the portable device. The game faithfully converts the 1992 Genesis classic while adding GBA enhancements like improved graphics and controls.
