About the Game

Dune: The Battle for Arrakis is a real-time strategy game for Mega Drive (Genesis) port. Players command one of three Houses (Atreides, Harkonnen, or Ordos) in a war over the spice planet Arrakis. Core mechanics involve building bases, producing harvesters and units, harvesting melange spice, and battling enemy forces in real time with house-specific units and tech. Gameplay modes are single-player campaigns. The story follows the inter-house conflict for control of Arrakis amid the Great House Wars, with the Emperor offering the governorship to the house that harvests the most spice. It stands out as the first RTS game with context-sensitive commands, building a legacy for Westwood Studios' Command & Conquer series.
