About the Game
Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light is a role-playing game for Nintendo DS. The player controls one of four youths who journey through a fairy-tale world to lift a curse that has turned the kingdom of Horne to stone. Battles are turn-based, inspired by classic Final Fantasy titles, using a "Boost" command system instead of magic points and a "Crown" job system where headgear determines abilities (upgradable with jewels). Four players can cooperate in co-op mode, earning battle points for rewards. The story follows Brandt, who must rescue Princess Aire from the Witch Louhi, only to discover everyone petrified; he teams with Yunita, Jusqua, and others to recover the seven "Weapons of Light" across various kingdoms. Key characters include Brandt, Princess Aire, Yunita, Jusqua, and the demon lords they confront in timeline flashbacks. It stands out for its storybook illustration style by Akihiko Yoshida, classic turn-based combat with job customization, co-op play, and a time-travel narrative tied to ancient demons.
