About the Game
Gauntlet IV is a top-down action/RPG on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive where players choose from one of four characters—Warrior (axes), Valkyrie (swords), Wizard (magic), or Elf (arrows)—and navigate maze-like dungeon levels filled with enemies, traps, and treasures while collecting keys, potions, and gold to reach the exit. In Arcade mode, it is a faithful four-player port of the original with nonstop chaos and power-ups. Quest mode adds RPG elements: explore new dungeon towers guarded by elemental seals (Earth, Wind, Fire, Water), defeat bosses, level up characters, purchase items at a central hub, and save progress with passwords. Battle mode offers free-for-all deathmatch combat with player-vs-player arena fights and ring-outs. What stands out is the blend of classic Gauntlet arcade action with innovative RPG progression and multiplayer options for up to four players.
