About the Game
暴走淘金者 (also known as Violent Gold Hunter) is a puzzle-platformer game on the Famicom where players control the protagonist, a former robot who has become human, in an underground mine. The story is a sequel to the popular Dig Dug, with the same protagonist returning to rescue his companions. Players must collect all gold pieces in each level while avoiding enemies and exiting through the exit door. The key mechanic is digging holes in soft ground to trap enemies, then jumping on their heads to pass safely. Enemies respawn from fixed points if not buried permanently. The game features a level editor for custom stages in the original or sequel. Gameplay includes three lives, scoring by clearing levels quickly, and creative level design. Characters center on the player and enemy diggers. What stands out is its innovative digging mechanics, puzzle-solving depth, and deep connection to the Dig Dug franchise, making it a challenging yet creative title exclusive to Famicom.
