About the Game

The Goonies II is a 1987 action-adventure platformer for NES/Famicom by Konami. Players control Mikey Walsh on a non-linear map of interconnected zones like caves and houses, switching between sidescrolling platforming and first-person menu-based exploration rooms. Combat uses Mikey's yo-yo, slingshot, and boomerang; enemies include the pursuing Fratelli family. Story follows the escaped Ma Fratelli family capturing the other Goonies and mermaid Annie. Standout features include early Metroidvania-style exploration, character-switching teamwork, and the transceiver hint device. Single-player mode with no time limits.
