Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto on Game Boy Color is an open-world action-adventure game where players control a criminal in Liberty City. Players can choose one of eight protagonists and proceed through a linear series of missions that advance the story of criminal power struggles. Core gameplay involves vehicular theft, navigation via cars and taxis, and completing contract missions received by pay phone. Combat uses punch and whip attacks against enemies and criminals. The game features a password system for saving progress due to the limited cartridge capacity. It stands out as one of the first true open-world games adapted to handheld, with simplified controls that adapt the original PC/PlayStation mechanics to Game Boy Color hardware.
