About the Game
Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting is a 2D arcade-style boxing game based on the manga. Gameplay features 5 modes including Story, Tournament, VS, Sparring, and Customize. Players control Makunouchi Ippo or other characters like Miyata Ichirō, Alexander Volg Zangief, Hayami Ryūichi, Okita Keigo, Date Eiji, Mashiba Ryō, Saeki Takuma, Shigeta Akira, and Sendō Takeshi using simple cross/A/B/R controls for movement, dodging, punching combinations, and special moves such as long uppercuts, smash, liver blow, gazelle punch, and Dempsey Roll. Story mode follows Ippo's journey from Kamogawa Boxing Gym sparring to Japanese Featherweight title matches.
