House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, The

The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return is a 2008 Wii compilation of light gun shooter games featuring two titles: The House of the Dead 2 (1998 arcade) and The House of the Dead 3 (2002 arcade). Gameplay is a rail-shooter where the camera follows a fixed path, requiring players to shoot zombies and monsters with pistols or shotguns using the Wii remote or Nunchuk. Modes include survival waves, boss fights, and training. The story in House of the Dead 2 involves agents stopping a business magnate's undead outbreak in an Italian city. In House of the Dead 3, it is set in a 2019 post-apocalyptic world where Thomas Rogan disappears during a raid on an EFI Research Facility. Characters include agents like James Taylor, Gary Stewart, Amy Crystal, Harry Harris, Thomas Rogan, Lisa Rogan, and G. What makes it stand out is the fun, accessible light gun controls on Wii, high-score chasing, and its place as the last physical home release for the classic House of the Dead series.
