About the Game
Mach Rider is a vehicular combat racing game set in a futuristic 2112 Earth invaded by evil Quadrunner forces. You control the Mach Rider motorcycle as you race through 10 sectors, battling enemies and avoiding obstacles like oil slicks, barrels, and rocks. Gameplay features three modes: Fighting Course (main story with time limits and enemy waves), Endurance Mode (mileage-based racing with slowdowns), and a multiplayer mode in the arcade version. Controls are simple: left/right on the D-pad steers, A accelerates, B fires a machine gun. What makes it stand out is its blend of driving, shooting, and combat on a single bike in post-apocalyptic settings inspired by Mad Max, with power-ups for immunity to hazards and one of the earliest 8-bit NES racing titles with depth.
