About the Game
In the 22nd century, Dr. Doppler creates a utopia for reformed Mavericks, but they revert to their evil ways and attack Maverick Hunters headquarters. X and Zero lead the fight against Doppler and the Sigma Virus, which tries to possess X. Players control X on eight selectable stages with obstacles, traps, and Maverick bosses; defeating bosses grants special weapons. X upgrades via armor parts and chips, pilots Ride Armors, and summons vehicles. Zero becomes playable in limited stages. The game stands out with Zero's debut as a playable character and custom ability upgrades. Story highlights include Zero uploading antivirus software to save X or sacrificing himself if injured.
