About the Game

Mighty Final Fight is a side-scrolling beat 'em up game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. It is a comical spinoff of the 1989 arcade Final Fight, featuring a super-deformed chibi art style. Players control one of three characters—Cody (street brawler with karate-boxing), Guy (ninja using ninjutsu), or Haggar (wrestler)—in single-player mode. The plot follows Mayor Haggar, his son Cody, and Cody's partner Guy rescuing Haggar's kidnapped daughter Jessica from the Mad Gear gang in Metro City. Gameplay includes an RPG-style leveling system where experience points from defeating enemies upgrade attack power, vitality, and unlock special moves (e.g., Tornado Sweep for Cody); character-specific weapons (knife, shurikens, mallet); and five stages plus bonus rounds featuring chibi versions of Mad Gear bosses like Thrasher and Cyborg Belger as the final boss. It stands out for blending beat 'em up action with RPG progression and a lighthearted tone unlike the original arcade game.
