About the Game

P.O.W. - Prisoners of War is a side-scrolling beat 'em up for the NES/Famicom. You play as Bart (or Snake in some versions), a captured special forces commando who fights through four stages in an enemy prison camp. Rescue fellow POWs, steal weapons like grenades, knives, and machine guns, and battle soldiers, vehicles, and bosses to reach the general and escape. Characters include the unnamed POW protagonist and various enemy soldiers. Standout mechanics include standard punch/kick/jump controls plus unique headbutt (punch + kick) and back-attack (punch + jump) moves, with limited continues and high difficulty.
