One Heroine - The Yang Family

Yi Men Ying Lie: Yang Jia Jiang (一门英烈 - 杨家将) is a classic 2D beat-'em-up game for the Sega Mega Drive (MD) featuring co-operative combat. Players select one of four warriors (an old master with long-range attacks, a sword-wielding samurai, a strong martial-arts fighter, or a super-fast female character) to fight waves of enemies in six lengthy, colorful stages inspired by ancient Chinese folklore and the Yang Family legends. The gameplay mixes side-scrolling beat-'em-up action with power-ups, combo chains, and challenging bosses. The story follows the Yang brothers and their allies defending China against invaders, with themes of loyalty and betrayal. It stands out for its vibrant backgrounds, accessible yet tough difficulty, and cultural ties to traditional Chinese stories, offering fun 1-2 player co-op sessions on the MD hardware.
