Royal Heroes

In Operation Europe: Path to Victory on Sega Mega Drive, players command historical officers in turn-based strategy gameplay across major WWII European and North African campaigns. Units move in real-time on the strategic map while tactical battles are resolved turn-based with abstract unit representation. Six scenarios include the 1940 French invasion, North African fighting, Kursk, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, and Soviet advance on Berlin. Players select officers via roulette system for randomized stats and assign them to brigade posts; objectives involve occupying key cities or defeating opposing forces. Multiplayer supports two players. What stands out is the realistic simulation of mobile warfare and urban battles using Koei's Nobunaga's Ambition engine adapted for modern conflict.
