About the Game

Samurai Spirits is a weapon-based fighting game set in late 18th-century Japan. Players control one of twelve characters in 1v1 battles using swords or other melee weapons. Key characters include Haohmaru, the ronin protagonist seeking bushido; Nakoruru, a gentle demon hunter; and Jubei Yagyu, the Yagyu ninja. The story involves traveling the world to stop the demon sorcerer Amakusa, resurrected by Ambrosia. It features authentic Edo-period music and a strategic slow-paced combat system. The Game Gear version has smaller sprites and limited color palette but retains the core arcade feel.
