About the Game
Sansan is a conversion of the abstract strategy board game Go to the Sega Mega Drive. Players capture territory by surrounding opponent stones on a 19x19 grid through single-player local matches or online play via the Mega Modem service over 33.3kbps or ISDN lines. The game supports 1-2 players and allows sending short messages to distant opponents like chess-by-mail, with a separate local two-player mode. It stands out as one of the rarest and sought-after Mega Drive titles due to its proprietary Sansan network service, which continues operating today while most other games from the era are obsolete.
