Settlers, The

The Settlers is a city-building and real-time strategy game for the Nintendo DS, a direct port of The Settlers II: Gold Edition developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte and published by Ubisoft. Players act as a settler leader in historical campaigns where they must manage resources, construct buildings, and expand their economy while defending against enemy forces. Core mechanics include daisy-chaining resource production, resource gathering from the environment, managing population and taxation, and deploying military units in real-time battles. There are extensive single-player campaigns with over 100 hours of gameplay, taking control of different nations with unique starting resources and objectives. The DS version retains the original's innovative supply-and-demand economy simulation.
