About the Game
Spirits & Spells is a 2D side-scrolling platformer on the Game Boy Advance. Players control Alicia (a witch) or Greg (a devil), two children dressed for Halloween, as they venture into a haunted forest and sinister labs to rescue their friends turned to stone by a bogeyman. The story is set during Halloween night in a spooky world of the dead, where they must navigate cemeteries, haunted houses, and deadly traps to save their companions. Alicia and Greg take turns exploring the levels, using unique abilities: Alicia can throw her hat, while Greg causes a firestorm, with limited gem usage for attacks. What makes it stand out is the cooperative dual-character design inspired by Castleween, offering action-adventure platforming with Halloween themes and spooky environments on the portable GBA.
