SpongeBob und Seine Freunde - Angriff der Spielzeugroboter (known in English as Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots for the DS) is an Action/Platformer where you control SpongeBob SquarePants and other Nicktoons characters through levels in Bikini Bottom and other worlds, battling Professor Calamitous' evil toy robots that have taken the likeness of your heroes. Gameplay features platforming, combat with punches and bubbles, and piloting upgradeable mech suits for some levels, with levels split into segments in the Toybot Factory. The story follows the team (including SpongeBob, Danny Phantom, Timmy Turner, and Jimmy Neutron) as they stop Calamitous' plans.
