About the Game

Tempest is a tube shooter arcade game where players control a claw-shaped ship that moves around the outer edges of geometric shapes. You must shoot enemies called Flippers, Tankers, and Spikers that emerge from the center of the web while avoiding deadly Fuseballs. The game features 16 different level shapes that loop with increasing difficulty and introduced the innovative use of a spinning dial controller. Its vector graphics, intense gameplay, and strategic depth made it one of the most acclaimed arcade games of the early 1980s.
