About the Game

The Super Shinobi II (known as Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master outside Japan) is a 1993 hack and slash platformer for Sega Mega Drive. Players control Joe Musashi, a skilled ninja, in a series of side-scrolling stages filled with enemies and bosses. Gameplay features shuriken throws, sword slashes, ninjutsu magic, wall jumping, ceiling climbing, dashing attacks, and horse/surfboard riding segments. The story involves Musashi confronting demonic forces threatening the world, ending in a cliffhanger with 'To Be Continued.' It stands out for its tight controls, fluid animations, epic level design, and being the series' peak on the Genesis. Game modes are single-player with high difficulty and boss rushes.
