About the Game
ToeJam & Earl is an action-adventure roguelike where players control two alien rappers, ToeJam (fast, low-health) and Earl (slow, high-health), on randomly generated floating islands. Gameplay involves collecting 10 scattered ship parts across 25 procedurally generated levels filled with enemies, traps, and items while avoiding hazards; simultaneous two-player mode lets friends control either character. Story follows the crash-landing of their Righteous Rapmaster Rocketship on Earth and the need to repair it to return home to Funkotron, battling foes like the Boogey Man and Insane Dentist. Characters are the titular duo, with stat upgrades and hip-hop music syncing to levels. What makes it stand out is its unique procedural levels, co-op freedom, 90s funk aesthetic, and memorable rapping enemies.
