About the Game

In Uchuu Senkan Yamato, players command the battleship Yamato and its fleet in a grid-based turn-based strategy. Move fleet icons across the battlefield to engage enemies, then complete shoot-'em-up sections to protect Cosmo Tigers. The story follows Earth crew members led by Susumu Kodai battling the Dessler empire in the Yamato anime universe. What makes it stand out is its real-time strategy elements adapted to portable play with ship combat and tactical movement. No English localization was released. The game captures the epic scale of the original series on the Game Boy.
