Valis III

Valis III is an action-adventure platformer on the Sega Mega Drive where the player controls one of three characters: the main heroine Yuko Asou wielding the Valis sword for powerful energy wave attacks, the agile whip-wielding demon girl Cham, or the magic-user Varna. Gameplay involves platforming through 2D levels by jumping ledges and running while fighting enemies, collecting items, and battling bosses, with the ability to switch between characters anytime using the A button. Story centers on Yuko, a teenage Japanese schoolgirl chosen as the Valis warrior, who teams up with Cham and Varna to stop King Glames of the Dark World from invading Earth and Vecanti in a battle involving resurrection of evil forces like Rogles and Megas. It stands out with character-switching mechanics allowing different abilities and ranges, unique ground-slide attack, and more powerful magic spells than prior Valis games.
