About the Game

Videomation is a productivity art and animation application for the NES. In single-player mode, players draw on a gray background using D-pad cursor controls and controller buttons: pen for freehand, line tool for straight lines, circle/rectangle tools for shapes, bucket fill for color, eraser, and stamps for geometric shapes, birds, cars, planes, man, or child. Animation mode lets users add moving objects like a man, child, car, or plane that follow preset paths or cursor-controlled motion. Seven tools and thirteen palettes support freestyle artwork; recordings save only via VCR capture. No story or characters exist, but it stands out as an early NES creative tool with animation features predating Mario Paint.
