About the Game

War in the Gulf is a horizontal shooter for the NES where the player pilots a helicopter to destroy enemy aircraft and ground forces across five missions. Missions include a dawn air attack, an ocean encounter, a desert fight, an airport assault, and an underground palace battle. The helicopter has a main gun and bomb-dropping capability (activated together by pressing B). An auto-defense shield circles the ship and absorbs enemy fire up to a limit. Players collect power-ups from hot air balloons or smoke puffs for temporary invincibility or bonuses. The game was released as an unlicensed bootleg in 1991 and features no named characters.
